Karen Melkus began painting when she, her husband Eddie and two German Shephards, Blaze and Woof moved to Cayucos in 2011. A stained glass project for the house prompted her to sign up for art classes with the Cayucos Art Association. She signed up in hopes she could learn how to draw, but the classes offered were all for painting! Karen regularly attends courses for both jewelry, wire wrapping and painting. She loves the classes because she always learns something new, it's fun, social and therapeutic!
